We are looking for a Productmanager!

Role Summary
Senior Product Manager with end‑to‑end accountability for BeltPulse, Spectral Industries’ core industrial product. You are the single owner for product vision, key product decisions, outcomes, and lifecycle—from discovery through industrialisation and scale. You decide what is built, what is standardised, what is not—and why.

Reports to: CEO & CTO

About Spectral
Spectral Industries is a fast-growing international high-tech company based in Delft, developing real-time chemical sensors for mining and recycling. Its laser-based (LIBS) technology measures chemical composition directly on moving material, without sample preparation.

The technology is proven globally and used by 3 of the 5 largest mining companies worldwide and the largest waste processor in Western Europe. With 20–25 employees, Spectral is entering a major growth phase, aiming to scale revenue 10× in the next three to five years. The organisation is transitioning from a project-driven to a product-driven model.

Product Context
BeltPulse is an embedded industrial product combining hardware, firmware, software, data and systems engineering in harsh field environments.

Product decisions are constrained by:
- complexity and engineering capacity
- manufacturing and operational realities
- reliability, quality, and certification requirements
- irreversible HW/SW trade-offs
- commercial pressure from customers and sales

Standardisation is essential for scale; exceptions are costly and deliberate.

Why this roles exist
To ensure Spectral builds one scalable, reliable product rather than many custom variants and that product decisions are made deliberately, transparently, and based on customer value, technical reality, and business outcomes.

Core accountabilities
Product ownership and decision-making
- Own product vision, strategy, and outcome-driven roadmap
- Own measurable results in hardware/data products (e.g. accuracy, reliability)
- Turns BeltPulse data into customer value (dashboards, APIs, operational decisions)
- Make and own prioritisation, scope, sequencing, and trade-offs
- Act as commercial gatekeeper: manage deal/commitment gates, sales pressure, and exceptions.

Discovery and learning
- Lead discovery: problem framing, hypotheses, field learning, validation, metrics
- Run dual-track discovery and delivery with strong engineering credibility
- Translate field reality into clear product boundaries and decisions

Delivery, industrialisation, and lifecycle
- Drive industrialisation, quality, reliability, and scale
- Own lifecycle decisions: versioning, upgrades, variants, and end-of-life
- Balance cost, quality, speed, and scalability explicitly

Operating model and governance
- Establish and run product cadences: prioritisation, decision inputs, decision log, WIP limits
- Ensure transparency: dashboards, predictability, learning velocity, impediment management
- Hold lightweight but firm governance under pressure, especially for irreversible decisions

Leadership and collaboration
- Lead cross-functionally across engineering, manufacturing/NPI, operations/service, and sales
- Coach teams and leaders in the new product operating model and decision logic

Required experience
- Senior Product Manager with 5+ years of experience in complex hardware–software products in industrial contexts
- University working and thinking level
- Proven end-to-end ownership across discovery, delivery, and industrialisation
- Experience operating under manufacturing, supply chain, and reliability constraints
- Track record of leading or embedding a product operating model or governance change

Skills & capabilities
Product judgment and human skills
- Strong decision-making under uncertainty and pressure
- Ability to handle conflict, trade-offs, and competing interests
- Clear ownership mindset: you take responsibility, not just coordination
- Credible, calm communication with engineers, sales, leadership,    CEO/board

Product and technical depth
- Hardware delivery literacy (requirements, assembly, firmware, reliability)
- Software and systems engineering fluency; HW/SW trade-off thinking
- Data- and evidence-driven prioritisation
- Engineering, physics, or a related technical field is a plus, not a requirement.

Change & people leadership
- Leads change by coaching the team, not by mandate
- Builds product judgment in others; explains decisions and trade-offs
- Comfortable saying no, and helps others understand and learn why
- Creates psychological safety for learning while holding clear boundaries
